Kiholo Bay Beach Walk

Kiholo Bay Beach Walk - Take gravel road between mile markers 82 and 83 off Hwy. 19 toward the beach. This is about 6 miles south of Waikoloa on the Big Island. Road is rough in places but most cars should be able to make it. This is 2 to 3 miles round trip, depending on how far you want to go before turning back.

Turn right at the beach. This is not a sandy beach. It is mostly lava of many different sizes, colors and types - some full of holes and some smooth. You get to Queen's Bath in a very short distance (see photos 10, 11 and 12). This beach is known for lots of turtles. There was a small one sleeping on the beach and we saw others in the water. The little guy I photographed paid no attention to us.

Farther along the beach you will see Bali House. This house was built in Bali, taken apart to move it to Hawaii, and then reassembled. It is quite striking.
