Parker Lake

Parker Lake Trail is 3.6 mile round trip. It is relatively easy but there is about 650 ft elevation gain that occurs mostly at the beginning. The lake is beautiful. I was there around the end of June and you can see that there is still quite a bit of snow on the mountains but none on the trail. There is no shade in the first part of the trail and it can be very hot. Later you are in trees and walking along Parker Creek. Bring mosquito repellent as they can be fierce both along the creek and the lake.

To get to the trail head, take the June Lake Loop Road (northern end) off Hwy. 395. Then take Parker Lake Road to the right just before you get to Grant Lake. It is a gravel road to the trail head but it's not bad.
