Little Lakes Little Lakes Valley Trail - Take Tom's Place and the Rock Creek Road turnoff from US 395 15 miles south of the Mammoth Lakes turnoff or 24 miles north of Bishop. Follow Rock Creek Rd for 10.5 miles to its end at the Mosquito Flat parking area.

There are many lakes along this trail and the distance varies depending on which route you choose. I went as far as Long Lake which is about 2 miles in with a return the same way. You can continue to Chickenfoot Lake or Gem Lakes at 3.5 miles out.

This trail passes several beautiful little lakes surrounded by 13,000-foot peaks. The views are wonderful. Not only the lakes but the mountain peaks and many unusual rock formations, of which I have shown some. Fortunately, the trailhead is at 10,300 feet so the trail is relatively level.
