Secret Slickrock Trail - Directions: Take Red Rock Loop Rd off 89A south of Sedona. Turn left and go 1.5 miles to Chavez Ranch Road. Turn left and go 0.9 mile. Secret Slickrock Trail is on the right across from Forest Road 788. The last half-mile of Chavez Ranch Road is unpaved. This is a short (.4 miles), easy trail that takes you down to the slickrock with great views of Cathedral Rock and many other formations. If there has been recent rain, there will be pools in the slickrock that reflect Cathedral Rock.

You can return the way you came or follow rock cairns off the backside of the ledge to the Ridge Trail below. Turn right onto Ridge and it climbs back to Chavez Ranch Road just 0.1 mile from where you parked.
