White Sands at Morning - Going out early in the morning gives you the dunes to yourself for a little while. There was an unusual phenomenon in a couple places shown in photos 8 and 9. From a distance, it looked like confetti on the dune. Up close, you see it is really very small rock chips of different colors. This is not common. I only saw it in a couple places, and I don’t know why it occurs.

As I was leaving, I was totally surprised to see an older gentleman with his camel. I know camels are associated with deserts but not in New Mexico. It was a great end to my time there.
