Desert People's Hike - At the right end of the Ryan Mountain parking lot is signage for Desert People and this is also a trailhead. For those of you who do not have the time or the energy to climb to the top of Ryan Mountain, this is a good alternative. It is very short and mostly level. Follow the path that descends from the sign. It will take you around several very large monzogranite formations; some of which were used for shelter by desert peoples of long ago. While this is a short hike, there are lots of wonderful views on it - both up close and in the distance. The trail winds around the monzogranite and joins the bottom section of the Ryan Mountain Trail.
